Arsenal face competition for the signature of Nice midfield Jean-Michael Seri with FC Barcelona declaring their interest in the player (via Bleacher Report).
There was some degree of pleasure from Arsenal fans when FC Barcelona star Neymar swapped Spain for France and completed his move to PSG.
After years of courting Arsenal players – the likes of Thierry Henry, Cesc Fabregas and Hector Bellerin – there was a feeling that the Spanish side had finally got a taste of their own medicine.
However, it seems that the Barcelona could get the last laugh after all after declaring an interest in Arsenal target Jean-Michael Seri.
We reported last week that Arsene Wenger is a huge fan of the player and is apparently waiting for Arsenal to get rid of a few players before making a move for the midfielder.
Seri impressed immensely for Ligue 1 side Nice last season and it seems that he has no shortage of admirers across Europe.

He’s a dynamic all-around midfielder, capable of winning possession and creating chances further up the pitch. What’s most attracting about the player is his €40 million release clause which, in today’s market, is a good price for a first-team midfielder at a top club.
It remains to be seen where Jean-Michael Seri will end up on 1 September. It surely won’t still be at Nice but the news of Barcelona’s interest isn’t good for Arsenal. The Gunners might be able to offer Seri more first-team football but the lure of the Camp Nou and Lionel Messi could prove too much for the midfielder.
