Danny Welbeck’s late goal against Leicester City had us all celebrating like mad, but one Arsenal fan celebrated so hard that he gave himself a hernia, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The former Manchester United striker came on as a substitute late in the game, making his first appearance since a knee injury ruled him out last April. After 10 months on the sidelines, he had an instant impact, with his glancing header getting us a massive three points against the league leaders.
The stands erupted, and Welbeck charged towards the fans – screaming supporters and teammates swamping him. His goal could prove crucial in the title race, and the fans knew it.
Arsenal fan Scott Stephen Woods seemingly celebrated the goal harder than anyone, with the Gooner celebrating so hard he gave himself a hernia. He posted this picture on Instagram with the #fortheloveofthegame after being admitted to hospital for treatment.
Woods recounted the incident that led to the hernia, and spoke of the pain. He suggested the pain may not have been worth it, but that will all change if we win the Premier League.

“I was jumping around with my dad and hugging my dad. Felt under the weather on Monday and then had to go to hospital in the middle of the night,” Woods said.
“It was bedlam.”
“After this I think I’m going to be taking it a bit easier for a while. Not sure the hernia was worth the 15 minutes of fame. If Arsenal win the league it will be!'”

Welbeck will give us a huge boost in the title run, and will give us some much needed squad depth heading into the final months of the campaign. He’s not a prolific, game changing striker, but he’s got goals in him, and will give Arsene Wenger another option up front. Hopefully he helps us clinch the league title, and Woods’ hernia proves worth it.
