Piers Morgan has asked Mesut Özil to change up his goal celebration a bit, and tweeted the German asking him to “retire the thumb-sucking”.
Regardless whether we win or lose, Morgan always has something negative to say. He lives for controversy and stirring up problems, and this is just his latest stunt.
Özil posted this picture following our 2-0 win over Bournemouth:

And Morgan quickly responded with this unnecessary tweet:
Great goal, Mesut, but maybe retire the thumb-sucking celebration now? https://t.co/oUu0vg9ruP

Whether Morgan knows it or not, Özil’s celebration is a tribute to his young niece Mira. It clearly has a lot of meaning for the World Cup winner, and there’s no reason he should change it, especially not at the request of a plastic fan like Morgan.

Real Arsenal fans clearly weren’t happy with Morgan’s comments either, as the comments on his tweet show. Everyone knows by now that he’s merely looking to stir things up, and he gets nothing but abuse on social media.
Arsenal transfer news
Frankly, we couldn’t care less what celebration Özil does, as long as he keeps scoring and assisting freely. He’s been a massive part of our season and will no doubt continue to be so as it wares on. The playmaker is in arguably the form of his life, and if we’re to have any chance of knocking Leicester City off top spot and winning our first title in years, we’ll need him to continue in this vein. So keep your mouth shut Piers.
