Arsenal fans have launched a campaign against the direction of the club under new owner Stan Kroenke and his company KSE.
A lot has changed at Arsenal in the last couple of years and that’s without even discussing the departure of Arsene Wenger.
Last year, Kroenke Sports Enterprises became the sole owner of Arsenal Football Club, buying out from shareholders who were obligated to sell.
Many of these shareholders had held a tiny stake in the club for generations.
The Arsenal Supporters’ Trust was amongst these club custodians and has since launched the #WeCareDoYou campaign against KSE and the direction the club is headed.
“As Arsenal fans we have watched with frustration as the team’s football performances have declined over the past decade,” the statement reads.
“When Stan Kroenke began buying Arsenal shares the club had just competed in a first Champions League final. Twelve years on Arsenal are about to play in the Europa League for the third year running.”

The statement later claims that Arsenal now “feels like an investment vehicle” for KSE and has urged the ownership to make “new and dynamic appointments” at board level to reinvigorate the club.
The statement has been co-signed by a number of high-profile figures amongst the Arsenal support.
It’s an important moment for Arsenal. The club has been in a steady decline for a decade but the last few years have been a freefall. It certainly feels like an “investment vehicle” for the absentee owner Stan Kroenke to pursue other business ventures in the US. A lot needs to change for Arsenal to challenge for European and domestic honours once again. Let’s hope this statement is the first step towards that goal.
