The Chris Smalling to Arsenal rumours are once again picking up speed, and the potential summer signing has drawn mixed opinions from fans.
The 25-year-old is approaching the final year of his current contract, prompting speculation that he could be on the move at the end of the season.
He may be among a host of players at Manchester United to be offered a new contract this summer, but if he doesn’t sign an extension then he will surely be sold.
A number of Arsenal fans seem to think the England international would be an astute signing for the touted price of £12m, while others have responded to the rumours with disbelief – even threatening to boycott the club if the transfer goes through.

One fan even went as far as to suggest he would switch allegiances to our North London rivals Tottenham if the deal is done. A bit much – don’t you think?
Switching to Tottenham if we sign Smalling.

If we replace Per Mertesacker with Chris Smalling, I'm throwing my season ticket at Arsène Wenger.

Why on earth would we sign Smalling? We don't need defensive cover as such & if we were to sign a CB, surely it would be a world class one..

And then there was this revelation from one fan…
If we sign Chris Smalling, I'll staple my testicles to my desk at work.

I can’t see that helping much really.
