Having become Chelsea’s closest rivals for the Premier League title this season – though still some way off – we are expecting Arsene Wenger to put pressure on the board to provide us with some of the finest talent that Europe currently has to offer.
If we manage to sign some of the players that we have been linked with ahead of the summer, as well as keep most of our own top talents, then when the squad goes off for international duty the French national team in particular may have a very familiar look to it.
Our fantasy French XI currently consists of four of our current squad, and another five that have been linked with moves to the Emirates in recent times. Here is the squad in full:
GK- Hugo Lloris (Tottenham)
Annoyingly, Hugo Lloris is the best goalkeeper that Didier Deschamps has available to him. But, with the team that he will have lined up in front of him, it is unlikely he will see much of the ball anyway.

RB- Mathieu Debuchy (Arsenal)
Debuchy will hopefully be able to enjoy a long and injury-free run for both us and France after four months out.
CB- Raphael Varane (Real Madrid)
According to the Daily Express last month, the talented centre-back is attracting our interest. He has endured a difficult time at Real Madrid, but the buzz surrounding him shows how highly he is thought of in the game.
CB- Laurent Koscielny (Arsenal)
The 29-year-old has become the spine of our back line, having proved he is unquestionably our best defender. With his experience, he could certainly take that role at international level as well.
