Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski is to depart on a permanent basis the summer after we agreed a €2million fee with Turkish giants Galatasaray, Turkish newspaper Aksam reports.
Podolski spent the second half of last season on loan at Inter Milan and his long-term future with us was always in serious doubt once that move took place.
The alarming size of the fee indicates that Arsene Wenger is desperate to get Podolski off the books with his wages reportedly worth £100,00 per week (via The Guardian).
After an impressive first season, Podolski failed to consistently match the intensity in the Premier League and, in the end, became a liability.
Arsenal transfer news
His loan spell at Inter proved that the German international needs to rectify the deficiencies in his own game after he only found the net once during his time there.

According to Aksam, Podolski has already agreed a three-year deal in principle and Galatasaray are set to add another player with international pedigree to their squad.
The Turkish giants have become a retirement home for some of the world’s top players in recent years and Podolski will link up with Dutch maestro Wesley Sneijder should he complete the move.
Hopefully, this swift clear-out will see us add another striker to the squad this summer in order to take us onto the next level.
