Looking at the current Arsenal team, it would be hard to find a single Gooner that would say the signings of Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, and most notably Petr Cech have not taken the team to the next level.
Ok Ozil may have had some difficulty in the beginning while trying to adapt to the English game, but he has certainly come of age this season – as his 13 assists attest.
As for Sanchez, his hunger and never-say-die attitude have rubbed off on other players, who feel they must try at least to put in the workload the Chilean international displays not just in his training, but every time he takes to the pitch wearing an Arsenal jersey.
The crunch signing for us though has to be Petr Cech, with the 33-year-old bringing a new found confidence to the back-four with the way he audibly instructs the players in front of him as he tends the Gunners goal.
Following Arsenal’s 0-2 win over Aston Villa on Sunday, which saw Cech not only keep his seventh clean sheet of the season, but equal former Liverpool and England goalkeeper David James Premier League record of 169 clean sheets (via the Daily Mail).
Arsenal forward Theo Walcott paid tribute to Cech after the match, telling Arsenal’s official website just how important Cech has been to the club’s success so far this season.

“From when we signed him, we all knew how good he was [after] what he achieved at Chelsea,” Walcott told Arsenal Player.
“On a personal level, for him it’s great.
“He’s changed us completely in that back four. He’s a talker, he believes in us all.
“That’s why he wanted to join us and having that presence behind you is always nice to have. He’s very commanding, he’s a leader in the dressing room as well, he always likes to talk.”
Arsenal fans will be hoping that manager Arsene Wenger can find a quality holding midfielder to bring in during the January transfer window and perhaps a striker to add to the firepower of Olivier Giroud as the Gunners make a real push towards the Premier League title.
