Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has expressed his frustration at being praised for his appearance rather than his goalscoring achievements this season, the Daily Star reports.
Giroud has scored 18 goals in all competitions this season, a respectable number given that he missed three months of the campaign with a broken ankle.
Following a period of three games without a goal, the target man has started to come under scrutiny once again, but it’s the attention he gets off the pitch which bothers him most.
Giroud was recently voted the ‘hottest Premier League player’ by Paddy Power (via Daily Mail), but constant comments about his looks are wearing thin on the Frenchman.
“I don’t want to speak any more about my appearance, my hair or anything. I get p—-d about that,” the former Montpellier man moaned.

For the first time in a few years, Giroud may get the opportunity to enjoy a summer break without having to hear about any number of strikers being linked with the club to take his position – and that’s thanks to him demonstrating his prowess as a top level goalscorer.
Had he been fit all season, he would certainly expect to be amongst the golden boot contenders given his strike rate when available this campaign.
The signings of Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck last summer may have given Wenger the attacking line he feels can deliver us the Premier League title, and if Giroud can stay fit for the entire season then we should have plenty of firepower.
