Arsenal have all but given up hope of luring Thomas Lemar away from Monaco and will hope to close a deal for Riyad Mahrez instead.
According to the Mirror, the Gunners have already had a bid of £30.7 million rejected for Lemar with Monaco intent on keeping hold of him.
Arsenal are willing to give up their interest in the 21-year-old and will now move for Mahrez, with Arsene Wenger seemingly keen to bring in a winger.
The Leicester star has already announced his intention to quit the King Power Stadium this summer, and is reportedly keen on moving to a bigger club.
Wenger has already revealed he is a big fan of the Algeria international, and hinted that he could be ready to bring him to Arsenal.
Mahrez, meanwhile, responded by admitting he was flattered to hear Wenger’s comments, with there clearly being a mutual respect and admiration between the pair.
