Arsenal have reportedly been given a clear path to sign Arturo Vidal with the Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri refusing to stand in the Chilean’s way should he want to depart, Tuttomercatoweb reports.
The Italian outlet suggests that Real Madrid appear front-runners for the midfielder’s signature, with the Champions League finalists more intent on keeping hold of Paul Pogba.
Previous reports claimed that a deal had been done to bring the 28-year-old to the Emriates Stadium after this summer’s Copa America (via The Independent).
Vidal did little to excite on-watching Arsenal fans in the Champions League final with a very erratic and ill-disciplined display which cast doubt as to whether or not he can offer us some defensive stability in midfield should he arrive.

Francis Coquelin’s emergence this season has led to talk of a different type of midfielder being well suited to our team, one that can operate better with the ball from deep.

Vidal looked everything but that player in Berlin on Saturday and the last thing we need is another huge signing who isn’t better than our current midfield options.
The Juventus man was never the type of player we needed and Arsenal fans were given a vivid demonstration on Saturday evening. Our club hierarchy should be focusing on players who will improve our team rather than dazzling names to create short-term euphoria.
