Lucas Perez is reportedly set to be out of action until December after injuring ankle ligaments during the Gunners’ 2-0 win over Reading on Tuesday night.
The striker started the game at the Emirates but was forced off in the second half after a challenge from Danzell Gravenberch, with Chris Willock replacing him.
IBTimes UK claims the summer signing will now miss the next six weeks with the problem and is not expected to return until Christmas time.
Arsenal have a busy schedule in November with Premier League games against Tottenham, Manchester United and Bournemouth. The Gunners are also in EFL Cup action against Southampton with important Champions League fixtures against Ludogorets and Paris Saint-Germain.
Perez has endured a slow start to life at in north London following his summer move from Deportivo La Coruna having only managed two goals so far, and this setback is likely to increase his frustration.
The news also leaves Arsenal a little short of options up front. Danny Welbeck remains out of action and although Olivier Giroud has recently returned to the squad he has barely featured this season and is short of match fitness.
