Arsenal have been handed a boost in our reported attempts to land either Isco or Karim Benzema after Real Madrid closed in on the signing of Inter Milan midfielder Mateo Kovacic, the Daily Mail reports.
According to the report, Kovacic is set to complete a £25million move to the Bernabeu this week in what is Rafael Benitez’s first major summer signing.
Given that the Croatian prefers to play in the No.10 role, doubts will certainly be raised regarding the future of some players at Real Madrid.
The Daily Mail suggests that Karim Benzema and Isco are the two players most in danger following Kovacic’s arrival while also reporting that both stars interest Arsene Wenger.

The boss has never been one to turn down world-class players, but we can certainly rule out the possible arrive of Isco given the plethora of options we have in the attacking midfield positions.

That isn’t the case with Benzema and if Kovacic’s arrival means that Gareth Bale is pushed into a centre-forward role this season, perhaps his position become untenable?
A player of Benzema’s calibre will certainly catapult us into genuine title challengers and liberate Mesut Ozil who’s creating chances at will.
