Arsenal legend Ian Wright launched an expletive-laden attack on a fan through his Twitter account after Paul Merson received some criticism following his analysis on our transfer window.
Merson appeared on Sky Sports News and claimed that the fans were being cheated by the club, given that we pay some of the highest tickets in European football yet the club is reluctant to invest in the squad.
However, as one fan particularly took exception to Merson’s comments, Wright came to defend his former teammate and instead labelled Arsenal as “embarrassing”.

The frustrations among everyone connected to the club stems from the lack of signings this summer, with no outfield player arriving to aid the squad.

It is the first time that has happened under Arsene Wenger and with clear gaps in our squad, it’s quite odd that he couldn’t identify a single outfield player capable of strengthening us.
Oddly enough, clubs such as Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Manchester City have all made moves in the market, yet those players are supposedly not good enough for us.
The passion is evident in Wright’s tweet and it will be hard for Wenger to escape criticism if we fail to challenge for the title this season.
