Arsenal are badly in need of reinforcements up front, and are apparently confident of landing reported Barcelona target Andriy Yarmolenko, as reported by the Metro.
The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from current club Dynamo Kyiv for quite some time now, with the Metro’s report revealing Barcelona was a potential destination. They cite reports from Spain however, that insist Yarmolenko is close to reaching an agreement to join Arsenal.
The Ukrainian is a top talent, and it’s strange that he hasn’t moved before now. Perhaps he is better suited to being a big fish in a little pond though, which is why he’s been with Kyiv for so long. Many promising players have struggled after making their first big move, and there’s no way of knowing whether Yarmolenko would be the same.
The Metro claims we have taken the lead in the hunt for his signature, with Barcelona instead turning their attentions elsewhere. The Catalan club are apparently looking to re-sign Celta Vigo forward Nolito, leaving us clear to sign Yarmolenko.

Arsenal’s Champions League failure could be a blessing in disguise
The report originates from Spanish site Fichajes, who are notoriously unreliable. We should still keep an eye on this story though, as the versatile forward certainly boasts quality.
