Arsenal have sent scouts to watch Benfica winger Goncalo Guedes who they see as the perfect replacement for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, according to The Sun.
The Gunners went to watch the 20-year-old in action against Estoril on Saturday but may face competition from Paris Saint-Germain who are believed to be ready to bid £27 million for his services
Arsenal are in the hunt for a replacement for Oxlade-Chamberlain who is about to enter the last 18 months of his current deal and is yet to be offered an extension.
Recent reports have claimed the 23-year-old is growing frustrated with his role at Arsenal, he is far from a regular starter for the Gunners and when he does make the starting XI he very rarely completes the full 90 minutes.
Oxlade-Chamberlain admitted earlier this season that he may have to consider his future if he were not to receive more playing time and Manchester City are believed to be interested.
The report suggests Pep Guardiola is ready to offer £25m for the winger with the Spaniard a big fan of the Englishman and keen to strengthen following Ilkay Gundogan’s season-ending knee injury.

City’s financial resources mean they would be able to double the Ox’s wages and are confident they could lure him away from north London.
While City may be able to offer a more attractive financial package, if he is looking to leave Arsenal in search of regular game time, it seems unlikely he would get that at the Etihad Stadium such is the depth of resources available to Guardiola.
Guedes, meanwhile, is a relatively little known property in this country, although his Benfica side are currently top of the table in Portugal and he has been linked with a number of top clubs in recent weeks.
