Arsenal are reportedly moving closer to a deal for Alexandre Lacazette, after increasing their bid for the Lyon striker, according to the Telegraph.
The report claims the Gunners have made a new offer of over £44 million (€50m), plus add-ons for the France international.
Lyon are believed to want €55m for their star man, but the clubs are now close to an agreement, and a deal could be reached next week.
The Gunners appear to have little competition for Lacazette, after the striker’s proposed move to Atletico Madrid fell through, and seemingly only need to agree a deal with Lyon now.
The signing of Lacazette would be a big boost for Arsenal, particularly with the futures of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil still unclear.

Sanchez has today spoken out his future, claiming he has made up his mind, but will not reveal his intentions until after the Confederations Cup.
Lacazette scored 28 Ligue 1 goals in 28 starts last season and 37 goals in all competitions, and looks as though he will be a very sound investment.
