Few were surprised when news emerged of Jack Wilshere’s injury, with the Englishman quickly becoming known for his glass ankles. We’ve at least had some good news on that front however, with the Express reporting that the 23-year-old is set for an early return to action.
Wilshere suffered the injury shortly before our Community Shield victory over Chelsea, and seemed likely to be out for quite some time. The Express claim it will be a matter of weeks rather than months though, with the Arsenal star spending some time relaxing in Dubai to speed the recovery process.
The report claims the rest has done him the world of good, and he is set to return to England in the next 24 hours. A return date is yet to be set, but the news is extremely positive.
Arsenal transfer news
We were all hoping Wilshere would have an injury free season, as he looked hugely impressive in both pre-season and the latter stages of the 2014/15 campaign. That ship has obviously already sailed, but if he can return to action soon, then he may be able to salvage the rest of the season.
