Former Arsenal shot-stopper David Seaman claims Jack Wilshere should join the England Under-21 side for the European Championship this summer, as reported by talkSPORT.
The 23-year-old has struggled with injuries this season, and with a number of Arsenal stars performing well at the moment, he may well find it difficult to break back into the team.
His lengthy spells on the sidelines this season means he is unlikely to be suffering from fatigue, so could greatly benefit from some competitive football this summer.
Seaman believes that England’s best players should be sent to the U21s this summer, and counts Wilshere among the best.
“I’d like to see him go,” he said.

“He has not played a lot of football this season and, if he is fit, I think he should go.”
England have been heavily criticised regarding their handling of young stars, and have been accused of promoting talent to the senior team far too early. A number of players would be served well by getting more tournament experience before being thrown in at the top level, and despite his experience, Wilshere could be one of those who could benefit.
