Thierry Henry believes we’ll have to change our game in order to get the better of Barcelona, something Arsene Wenger is not exactly known for.
The Arsenal legend claims we’ll have to be incredibly clinical and take all our chances – unlike recently – as Barcelona are more than likely to dominate possession.
“They have to accept they will probably only have 30 per cent possession and must be so efficient when they do get the ball. The whole team must defend more as a unit and the wingers must tuck in and play more in their own half,” Henry wrote in his Sun Column (via The Independent).
“You very rarely get the chance to play against Barcelona so you must be prepared to sacrifice parts of your attacking game, home and away.
“Arsenal must be brave on the ball. They need to stay compact, play on the counter and score every time they get in their penalty area.
“They can’t be exposed in the middle and must force Barcelona to run back 60 yards before they get the ball. If you allow them to stay in your half for wave after wave, it becomes almost impossible to defend.”

However we play, beating Barcelona will be a really tall order. Our form has been indifferent recently, while they are at the peak of their powers, with Luis Suarez, Neymar, and Lionel Messi on top form.
We know we’re capable of getting the win over Europe’s top teams, as earlier this season we got an unlikely result against Bayern Munich at the Emirates. In the reverse fixture we had our rear ends handed to us though, so equally we know if we aren’t at our best we’re going to suffer.
Having played for both sides Henry knows what it takes to get the win, and we should certainly be taking his advice. That said, it’s pretty straight forward advice, and Arsene Wenger is no doubt aware that we need to be clinical against arguably the world’s best team.

Whether the Frenchman changes our tactics for the game is another question altogether though, and while we have seen him occasionally adjust against Bayern and Manchester City, it’s not exactly his forte.
