Arsenal legend Martin Keown has hinted that his former boss Arsene Wenger may yet make a move for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal in this transfer window.
While taking over the Premier League’s official Twitter account for a ‘Q & A’, Keown stated that should Wenger sign Vidal, he may look at the centre-forward position as the only weak spot ahead of the new season.

Despite the denial from Vidal’s agent that talks have taken place (via Goal), Keown has now reignited talk of a move after mentioning him as a potential signing.

Our former defender could’ve just been indulging in some wishful thinking, but he still remains close to the club and could’ve heard whispers regarding a potential deal.

Judging by where our priorities lie, a move for Vidal would be a surprise with the 28-year-old similar to a number of our current midfielders. The Chilean enjoys breaking from midfield and joining the attack, similar to the likes of Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey.
If we’re to succeed in our potential title challenge, then Wenger must look to add a player to our squad who’s only interested in protecting the back four.
