Arsenal legend Ian Wright has said Arsene Wenger should quit the club due, in part, to the problems the club are facing at boardroom level (via The Metro).
Ian Wright is one of the best and most popular players to play for Arsenal. Now, the former forward has called on another hugely influential figure to leave the club.
It’s no secret that the Gunners are in crisis and as a number of players look for the exit door, Wright has called on Arsene Wenger to do the same.
“When you say, ‘do I think he should go?’ I would like him to go simply because I do not believe now that Arsene Wenger can motivate those players with everything that’s going on above him,” Wright told BBC 5 Live.
“And the way the players are performing on the pitch, for him to turn this around. For himself, for his own sanity.
“We are three games in and it’s already an absolute nightmare. Where does he go from here?

“The players are no longer playing for their manager. Without a shadow of a doubt.
“That team has not played for that manager for years. People will say, “what about the semi-final what about the final?” Those were two games. If they lost those games, he probably would have lost his job.
“The saddest thing about the Arsenal players is they obviously can do it when they want to.”
It’s sad and surprising to see Ian Wright openly calling for Wenger to leave the club. There are few former players who seem to have as much respect for Wenger as Wright does but perhaps this is where the club is right now. Drastic change is needed, as it has been for some time.
