Arsenal legend Liam Brady has urged the club not to sell academy product Jack Wilshere who is attracting interest from Manchester City ahead of the summer transfer window, talkSPORT reports.
According to reports, Wilshere has emerged as a surprise target for Man City who are looking to table an offer of £30m to land our midfield star (via The Independent).
Arsenal transfer rumours
Brady, who left his position as academy director last summer, recognises the importance of keeping a player who has come through the ranks at the club.
“I don’t know what is going through Arsene Wenger’s mind, I don’t know what is going through Jack Wilshere’s mind, but I think I know what is going through the people at Man City’s minds – they need English players and it is no surprise to see they might target Jack Wilshere,” Brady said.
“But I would hate to see him leave the club because I have known the kid since he was ten years of age and he is Arsenal through and through.”

Wilshere has three more years left on his contract and Arsene Wenger has repeatedly reminded many that we are no longer in a position where our best players are for sale given the finances at the club.
It is also difficult to see the midfielder pushing for a move considering how publicly he shows his affection for the club and, according to The Telegraph, Wilshere is set to enter new contract talks in the off-season.
Surely, we won’t let one of our own depart…?
Wilshere can’t get in the side right now due to the form of Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla in central midfield, but next term, we’ll sure he play a crucial role.
