Cech’s arrival was finally announced on Monday (via Arsenal) after weeks of conflicting reports, and Seaman believes that we may have just secured next season’s Premier League title with this deal.
There is a notion that Cech is essentially Seaman’s replacement considering how long we’ve waited for a goalkeeper of his stature. Jens Lehmann produced some stunning displays, but his erratic temperament led to some uncertain times with him between the sticks.
Arsenal transfer rumours
“Chelsea’s loss could, and likely will, be Arsenal’s gain,” Seaman stated by Breathe Sport.
“In my opinion, this signing could genuinely be the difference between who will come first and who will come second next season.”

Seaman, despite his legendary status, trails Cech in terms of the major honours won by both goalkeepers which is further evidence regarding the pedigree of our latest signing.
Arsene Wenger has seemingly chosen his settled back four judging by our lineups towards the back-end of last season, and having a goalkeeper of Cech’s ability behind them will only heighten their confidence.
Seaman knows what it takes to win a Premier League title, let’s hope he’s accurate with his latest prediction.
