Ex-Arsenal star Eduardo was asked on Twitter which striker he would sign if he were Arsenal manager, and suggested he’d make an audacious attempt to sign Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.

It seems likely that the Brazilian-born Croatian star was just being facetious and responding in a comical fashion, as everyone unfortunately knows we have no chance of landing the Argentine magician.
Lionel Messi is arguably the best player in the world right now, if not in footballing history. It would be fantastic to see him at Arsenal, but not only is it hard to see him wanting to make the switch to north London any time soon, we don’t have hundreds of million to spend on bringing the South American star to the Premier League.
We do need a striker this summer though, and unfortunately there aren’t many top quality forwards available. We may have to settle for a striker with potential or another squad player, as there are very few players like Karim Benzema, Robert Lewandowski, or Luis Suarez around at the moment.
