Arsenal hero Thierry Henry insists that his former side need to address their spine this summer if they’re to challenge Chelsea for the Premier League title next season, the Frenchman told Sky Sports.
After the stalemate at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, we failed to lay down a marker and signal an intent that we aim to wrestle the league title off the champions-elect next year.
Instead, Jose Mourinho set-up not to lose and got the point he came for with Arsene Wenger’s barren spell against the Portuguese coach now stretching to 13 games.
Henry believes it is time for the boss to learn from his arch nemesis and add a strong spine to the squad in order for us to become realistic title challengers.
Arsenal transfer rumours
“Arsenal need to buy four players, they need that spine,” Henry said.

“They need a goalkeeper, they still need a centre-back, they still need a holding midfielder and, I’m afraid, they need a top, top-quality striker in order to win this league again.
“The best example for me today was Chelsea. They struggled last year and they were still competing to win the league. They now have [Thibaut] Courtois, [Nemanja] Matic, Cesc [Fabregas] and Diego Costa.”
Henry’s statement is one many have echoed in recent years and with the finances extremely healthy at the club, the onus is on Wenger to deliver the targets.
