It’s hardly the ideal preparation for a crucial match. The Gunners take on non-league Lincoln City on Saturday in what is a must-win match and Arsene Wenger has given his team news ahead of the clash.
“I believe that we have two uncertainties,” Wenger claimed. “Welbeck, who had to come off after the warm-up against Bayern due to sickness, and Iwobi, who on the day of the game couldn’t turn up as well due to the same problem. Everyone else should be available.”
The FA Cup is now the only trophy Arsenal can realistically win but Arsene Wenger has handed his fans some bad news. Starman Mesut Özil was struck down with a sickness bug last week and after Danny Welbeck appeared to be afflicted by the same bug, Wenger confirmed the potential problem.
“It is possible, yes. We have a little problem on that front. I don’t know if it is a bug or not.

“They called me on the morning of the game and said Iwobi cannot play and Welbeck at 5pm in the afternoon felt sick. We still tried to play him but it could be a bug, I don’t know.
“That is for the doctors to do their job, I have enough to do!”
The issue with Mesut Özil seems to keep rumbling on. The German star missed the Liverpool clash and only made the bench against Bayern. Wenger was also quizzed about whether the midfielder will play on Saturday or not.
“I haven’t decided yet, he still felt not too well after the game,” Wenger went on. “I will see in training how he feels and I haven’t decided on the team that will start the game on Saturday.
“I have always decided to play the team that has a good chance to qualify, and I will continue to do that of course.”
So it’s not exactly good news ahead of the FA Cup clash with Lincoln. The Gunners are still without Santi Cazorla and Mohamed Elneny in midfield and if Özil and Iwobi miss out too then it could be a problem. Arsene Wenger will probably have to stick with the same midfield three that played in the Bayern match with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the number 10 slot.
