With a host of injury concerns at the moment, the rumour mill is spewing out a handful of names that Arsene Wenger is allegedly looking at bringing to the Emirates this January. Genoa winger Diego Perotti is one of them, with the Argentine valued at around £9m (€12.5m), according to Gianluca Di Marzio (via the Metro).
We are extremely short in the wide areas at the moment, with Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck, and Tomas Rosicky all out injured (via Arsenal.com).
The situation may not necessarily be the same come January, but having a more natural wide man on the books couldn’t hurt. The 27-year-old is incredibly versatile, and can play on either flank or behind the striker – something that is likely to appeal greatly to Wenger.
Perotti is excellent with his feet, and is renowned for his dribbling. He is also incredibly two footed – just like Santi Cazorla – which is always a hugely positive trait.
Arsenal transfer news
Whether he has the quality to play for Arsenal is questionable, but as nothing more than a squad player he could prove a decent signing.
