Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane has been linked with a surprise move away from the Bernabeu this summer, and the Emirates is one of his potential destinations, according to the Metro.
The French centre-back has been linked to a host of clubs recently, with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, and PSG all credited with an interest.
The 21-year-old has been hugely impressive during his time at the La Liga club, which makes it hard to see why they would want to sell. A £30m move has been touted however, and he would be a fantastic acquisition.
Having only recently bought Gabriel Paulista from Villarreal, it’s hard to see Arsene Wenger spending that much on another defender. Per Mertesacker has been tipped to leave though, and the rumour mill has been working overtime finding his potential replacements.

PSG are allegedly leading the chase for his signature, and are prepared to throw a huge amount of money Madrid’s way to bring him back to France.
Varane has been watching on from the bench for large parts of the season – with Carlo Ancelotti seemingly preferring a partnership of Pepe and Sergio Ramos. It’s possible therefore, that the young defender could be looking to force his way out of the club.
