We have recently been linked with a move for Barcelona’s Sergio Busquets, and have apparently lodged a £24.4m bid for the Spaniard, according to the Metro.
Reinforcements in defensive midfield are badly needed, with Francis Coquelin our only viable option at the moment. Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta have shown that they aren’t what we need anymore, so a new addition is certainly needed.
Busquets would be an excellent option, and is likely to fit perfectly into our setup as well. Coming from Barcelona he is well suited to the passing style of play we implement, but he still offers the defensive stability we need from our holding midfielder.
It’s hard to see this move coming off, as he is integral to Barcelona’s game. The Metro’s report claims they have already turned down our offer, but insists Arsene Wenger is prepared to return with a higher bid.

Our financial freedom has seen us make a number of marquee signing over the last few seasons, and Busquets could be our big money move this summer. It would certainly be a signal of intent, and we have a history of poaching players from Barcelona.
