Arsenal have begun negotiations with the representatives of Barcelona forward Pedro with a view to sealing a £15million deal, despite the fact that the 27-year-old recently signed a new contract, The Independent reports.
Pedro has seen his first team opportunities limited over the past 18 months, especially following the arrivals of Neymar and Luis Suarez.
With the noise about a potential move gathering pace earlier this summer, Pedro shocked many and agreed a new contract with the European champions until 2019 (via The Guardian).

However, it now looks like that may have been a ploy from the club to demand more money for their academy graduate, and we’re in the running to sign the winger, as The Independent suggests.
Pedro was once one of the best players operating in Europe, but it seems as though his standards have dropped in recent years which could be down to a lack of confidence and playing time.

When comparing him to Alexis Sanchez, our Chilean sensation is clearly the superior player and with the other options we have in our squad, Pedro would find minutes hard to come by in north London too.
Hopefully, Wenger is targetting a specialist striker who can hit the ground running instead of aiming to convert another wide forward.
