Arsenal have reportedly made an enquiry to sign highly rated Real Sociedad starlet Antoine Griezmann, according to reports on Goal.com.
The 23 year old has been a star player for the Spanish side, managing 16 goals and three assists in the league this campaign and has attracted interest from top clubs around England and Europe.
The report states that the Gunners have long been interested in signing the Frenchman and have made contact with Griezmann’s representative over a potential transfer to the Emirates in the coming summer window.
It further states that Arsenal have been closely monitoring the strikers rise in La Liga this season as their scouts have watched him in action on several occasions. The North London club will they face competition from the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and several continental heavyweights to land the attacker.
The Frenchman is a goal scorer, but isn’t a typical striker, as he often plays on the left wing or slightly further up, where he likes to take on defenders. He likes to cut inside and use his pace to expose slower central players and drag the full-back out of position. He has blistering pace, dribbling quality and willingness to consistently support attacks.

He would provide a similar option to Walcott but on the left wing, as well as providing plenty of goals from a wide position. He is naturally left-footed and has top scored for sixth-placed Sociedad in La Liga this season, netting an impressive 16 goals in 31 appearances. At only 23 years old he has a huge amount of experience with 134 La Liga appearances for Sociedad.
He is an incredibly exciting prospect, who can provide goals and could bring a spark that has been missing in the latter stages of the Gunners’ season. He would also fit in well into our set up with many fellow French internationals also plying their trade at the Emirates. Some reports suggest that Real Sociedad will listen to offers of around £20 million, which is a relatively small amount for a player with great potential and proven goal-scoring abilities.
