The Frenchman had to wait for his chance last season, but when the opportunity did arise he very much impressed and became an integral part of Arsenal’s incredible season run-in.
His partnership with Per Mertesacker proved formidable at the back, leading to Arsenal unusually grinding out results in tough matches, a trait welcomed by many Arsenal fans.
Koscielny is quoted as saying by Goal.com when asked about whether he was seeking a move away from the Emirates:
I never said that. I feel very well at Arsenal.
I am aware it’s a great club and I have a four-year contract. I know there’s talk about me and Barcelona and Bayern, but people make their own conclusions.
The facts are simple: I have a contract at a club where I am happy. Full stop. We all know how situations change in football but I repeat that I’m not one to make castles in the sky.

I live in the moment, I seek nothing but to play the best I can.
In my mind my goal is to win trophies with Arsenal with whom I’m about to start pre-season training. I’ve no ulterior motives.
I’m at a healthy club, which plays beautiful football, doesn’t lose money every year, sticks to its own budget and plays in the Champions League. Not many players can say the same.
First of all, it is finally refreshing for a player to say good words about the club! Arsenal has been in somewhat of a re-building phase and for one of our top class players to say something of this nature and commit to his contract deserves the fans respect.
Koscielny has proven himself as Arsenal’s best defender in our ranks currently and proved to be a vital part in our fourth place finish last season when we looked down and out.
Hopefully the Frenchman sticks to his words however. We have heard things like this before, only for the player to leave soon after. I think its time for someone to finally stop the trend!
