Lansbury, 20, is currently on loan with Championship side West Ham United scoring on his debut for the hammers, contributing greatly in their win over Portsmouth with the final score 4-3.
In an interview at the weekend, Lansbury raised doubts over his stay at the Emirates saying:
If I have to go then I have to go. I spoke with him (Wenger) and he said I wouldn’t play that much football. I’m not the type to just sit around. I need to be playing and West Ham gave me a chance so I want to take it. It’s a great squad and I can learn from them. There are big game players here.
While he knows opportunities will be limited at the Emirates at the present time, it is good to see he is willing to gain experience outside the club and try earn a starting spot when he returns a better player.
Personally I think the young England Under-21 star in the future will be good enough to play for Arsenal and at only 20 years of age has plenty of time to improve on loan before making a statement of intent when he returns to the Emirates. What do you guys think? Does Lansbury have what it takes to develop into an Arsenal star?
