Everton manager David Moyes has revealed that he tried a cheeky move with legend and Arsenal current record top-scorer Thierry Henry.
The toffees are currently low on strike-power and Moyes couldn’t resist putting in a little offer to the Frenchman when he spotted him in the Emirates tunnel.
Moyes said on the situation:
I already asked him (Henry) on the way in. I asked him, he’ll tell you; if he wants a game let me know.
I’m hoping we might be able to do something in January [about the lack of strikers].
Everton did a similar deal for an MLS player last season when they took on MLS star Landon Donnovan to play for Everton on a short-term basis.
But obviously it was for a bit of a laugh, although no doubt he would openly welcome the gunner’s legend to join Everton if he had the chance to. How do you guys think Thierry Henry would fare in the Premier League nowadays? Feel free to leave a comment below.
