The Chairman of Ligue 1 club Rennes has confirmed that an English club has put forward a concrete offer for their star midfielder and French international Yann M’Vila.
M’Vila had been heavily linked with Arsenal until manager Arsene Wenger stated he was not interested in acquiring the midfielder until the fates of both Diaby and Wilshere have been determined.
Since that statement other events have transpired with Barcelona reportedly interested in signing Arsenal’s first-choice defensive midfielder Alex Song and although at this stage it is merely speculation, a possible departure would be a huge loss to Arsenal’s midfield.
Meanwhile The National claims that North London rivals Tottenham are responsible for the offer in an attempt to replace their stubborn star midfielder Luka Modric, who is still training outside the squad following his attempts to try force through a move to Real Madrid.
Rennes Chairman Frederic de Saint-Sernin is quoted as saying by Goal.com on M’Vila:
He has a very concrete offer from England.
It is odd to think only a month or two ago reports were claiming that M’Vila was a certainty to be transferred Arsenal, but for whatever reason it seems Arsene pulled out of the move or the reports were way off the mark.
Personally speaking, I think any chance for M’Vila to come the Arsenal depends on Alex Song and whether he makes a move away to Spanish giants Barcelona, but this is only my opinion.
