Let’s start with the big news
Official: Club confirm Paulista transfer, Campbell loan
Villarreal’s Gabriel Paulista has completed his long-awaited move to Arsenal, after the Gunners agreed a deal with the Spanish club. He is a terrific reader of the game from the centre of defence and would be an asset in any defensive line. We have made a fine move by bagging a player likely to improve even further with experience, he even said his goodbyes to the fans. There is still the outstanding issue over the work permit, but Wenger surely has addressed this before finalising the deal? He is set for medical today before Arsenal announce the deal.
It was not the only piece of business Arsenal did with Villarreal as the Spanish club have also agreed a loan move for Joel Campbell until the end of the season. This deal was a clear sweetener for the Paulista move and it will definitely help the striker gain some much needed experience. He has great potential but he is nowhere near ready to lead the line for the Gunners.

Arsenal have reportedly lodged a £3.7 million bid for Borussia Dortmund defender Kevin Grosskreutz. The German international is capable of playing as a right-back and in midfield when needed, he could certainly benefit from joining a squad which is in need of strength in depth. There is still room for another defender, so if we can manage to snap him up it will certainly benefit the back line this season.
Brighton can’t be taken lightly warns Arsene Wenger
Arsenal boss Arsene Wneger has warned his players against complacency when they take on Brighton on the FA Cup on Sunday. The Gunners will be hoping to avoid becoming another high profile name losing out early in the FA Cup. We actually have a great chance of retaining the trophy with Chelsea, Man City, Spurs and Southampton already knocked out. Hopefully we won’t mess up like our London rivals did on Saturday.
Macho man Mesut Özil has been hitting the gym to toughen up
Arsene Wenger has revealed that midfielder Mesut Ozil has been working very hard to toughen up his physique. He has struggled with the rigorous nature of the Premier League so far since moving to the Emirates. The German is set to start against Brighton and hopefully he can provide Arsenal with the winning spark to get past a lower league opposition as they seek to retain the FA Cup.
So a good day at the office for the Gunners, do you think we can avoid an embarrassing Cup exit and get past Brighton today?
