In today’s news roundup, we have injury updates from both Arsenal and Liverpool ahead of the upcoming clash between the two. While Arsenal have problems with Danny Welbeck, Liverpool have some of their own key players in doubt.
Other news includes the return to training of perennially injured midfielder Abou Diaby and some analysis on the form of Arsenal so far this season.
Danny Welbeck faces struggle to get fit in time
England striker Danny Welbeck has proven to be a hard working and smart player, who has adjusted well to life at Arsenal. He has combined beautifully with Sanchez and Giroud up front and though his goal conversion rate could be better it has still been a good season for him.
But after picking up a knee injury in the game against Lithuania on Friday, the Daily Mail report he is battling to recover in time for Arsenal’s game against Liverpool.

The result of our clash at the Emirates this weekend could have massive bearings on the final top four standings, with a loss for Liverpool potentially putting them out of the race for a Champions League spot. Danny Welbeck has been in good form recently – especially for the national side – and would be a definite blow for us if he fails to recover.
Liverpool talisman planning return at the Emirates
Daniel Sturridge has been absent for most of the season through injury, but unfortunately for us could make a return for Liverpool’s trip to the Emirates, according to the Mirror. Part of a brutal strikeforce alongside Luis Suarez, he scored almost at will as Liverpool rampaged through the League during the second half of the season.
However, we should still be able to secure the victory, as Liverpool will be without a number of key players. Martin Skrtel and Steven Gerrard will both be suspended, meaning the backbone of their team will suffer.
Abou Diaby to feature beofre the end of the season?
Perennially injured Arsenal star Abou Diaby has made his return to full training, and could still feature before the end of the season. The Frenchman has shown plenty of promise whenever fit, but unfortunately for him those occasions have been few and far between.
Announcing the news on Twitter, Ben Dinnery, an injury data specialist for ESPN said that Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere had also returned to full training, with the Ox still waiting for a test.
