Arsenal registered a 2-1 win over QPR on Wednesday night to firmly cement their position in the top four. The Gunners took the lead in the 64th minute courtesy of an Olivier Giroud strike before Alexis Sanchez doubled the lead just 5 minutes later. Charlie Austin pulled one back with 8 minutes of normal time left but the goal was not enough to marshal a comeback. Here is an overview of the player ratings.
David Ospina could only manage a 6 because of his dodgy kicks and many would argue that he could have done better with Austin’s goal. Gabriel was certainly not having his night and things got worse when he sustained a hamstring injury. The Brazilian could only manage a 6. Kieran Gibbs was at fault for the goal and as such the best he could do was a 6. Hector Bellerin and Per Mertesacker brought some sanity and stability to the back four, registering a rating of 7 apiece.

Alexis Sanchez scored his first goal since January with a wonderful solo effort, breaking his goal drought and earning a rating of 8. French international Olivier Giroud scored his fifth goal in five games to likewise earn a rating of 8.

After wasting chances aplenty in the first half, Arsene Wenger’s team talk at half time paid dividends as the Gunners came back after the break to score 2 goals in 5 minutes, eventually winning 2-1 at Loftus Road in a midweek Premier League fixture.
Olivier Giroud bundled the ball home after a shot by Kieran Gibb was blocked to open the scoring in the second half. Alexis Sanchez sent the ball past Robert Green to double the lead midway through the second half. Charlie Austin scored in the 82nd minute but the game finished in favour of the North London side.

German international Mesut Ozil has been named Arsenal’s Vitality Player of the month after an impressive run in February. Throughout the month, the midfielder scored twice and provided three assists to earn the award.
Ozil provided an assist for Olivier Giroud against Aston Villa before getting on the score sheet himself in the 5-0 rout at the Emirates. He scored in the North London derby before providing two assists against Leicester City. Here is the result for the top three.

According to a statistic released by Opta, Mesut Ozil is the third most creative player in the history of the Premier League going by assists per minute ratio. Although the 2014 World Cup Winner has not lived up to the people’s expectations since signing from Real Madrid in 2013. The 26-year old has 14 assists to his name, registering one every 224 minutes.
Ahead of him in second and first place are Cesc Fabregas and Jose Antonio Reyes with an assist every 221 and 214 minutes respectively.
