The game turned out to be an entertaining match, which included 2 red cards and a penalty, which ended up being saved.
Poland took an early lead through striker Lewandowski whose drive header gave the hosts the lead on the 16th minute of the match.
Szczesny had little to do in the opening half, but made a costly mistake when he was finally called into action early in the second when he failed to gather a cross, which in the end fell to Greek striker Salpingidis who took the chance with ease.
His night went from bad to worse in the 69th minute when he brought down Salpingidis in the box after the Greek striker was put through with a superb chipped ball over the top.
For denying a goal-scoring opportunity Szczesny was shown a straight red card and will now automatically miss the next match Poland are to play against Russia.
