Reports were starting to circulate that Arsenal star Jack Wilshere was set for an extra six weeks on the sidelines, effectively ending his season. However a Gunner spokesperson has moved quickly to deny any such claims and there is no long term issues.
Goal.com revealed the English international would be out for even longer spell that initially thought, possibly up until May. According to the report his ankle was assessed by a specialist in Dubai last week while he was resting, and upon his return to the club.
However The Daily Mail have reported an Arsenal spokesperson said there is no truth in the reports and the 21-year-old is on course for his return after the international break:
Nothing has changed in Jack’s recovery, there’s no setback or further damage to his ankle and no concern about any long-term problems.
Jack was told to rest and we are still on course for him to resume training and be available for selection for the home game against Reading.
Worry certainly crept into Gooners minds at the possibility of losing Wilshere for even longer than expected. His requirement for rest has come at a very convenient time with the international break upon us, as the next Premier League game is not until the 30th of March.
All we wish for is a speedy recovery for the talented youngster, he is an essential part of our season run-in!
