It has been confirmed by official website Arsenal.com that Arsenal’s young star midfielder Jack Wilshere has had a successful operation on his knee in Sweden.
The specifics of the injury were not really divulged by Arsenal, but they did reveal approximately a week ago that the Englishman has had long-term problems with the patella tendon in his left knee.
Obviously Wilshere has had a tough time recently with injury, where a couple of stress fractures in his right foot/ankle has kept him out of the whole 2011/12 campaign and will also keep him out of the upcoming Euro competition.
Arsenal were quick to point out that the minor operation shouldn’t significantly impact on the current rehabilitation he is having for his foot and also that it shouldn’t significantly affect his return date, but as an Arsenal fan it is always worrying when they say this…
