Arsenal have reportedly opened contract talks with a number of stars to avoid a repeat of what is happening with both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez right now (via The Metro).
The mood at Arsenal is very different to what it was a few months ago.
Rewind to the aftermath of the defeat to Liverpool at the start of the season and Gunners fans were close to rioting.
Now, many are more optimistic but there is still a dark cloud around the Emirates. Most of that is around the future of key players like Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez who still haven’t sorted out their futures.
Their contract expire at the end of the season and are showing little indication of signing a new deal which is perhaps where this news comes from.

Reports suggest that the club have opened talks with both Aaron Ramsey and Danny Welbeck over potential new deals for the British pair.
Ramsey has been one of the standout players for the Gunners this season and both his and Danny Welbeck’s current deals expire at the end of next season.
It’s a smart, pragmatic move from the club to try and get these players tied down to new deals. Aaron Ramsey has been outstanding so far this season and the Gunners can’t risk potentially losing another key player at the moment.
