Arsenal are planning a shock move to bring Cesc Fabregas back to the Emirates, according to the Sunday Express.
The report claims Arsene Wenger is keen to bring in reinforcements in January to keep his side’s title challenge on track.
The Frenchman is eager to bring back Fabregas who has struggled for game time this season under Antonio Conte at Chelsea.
The Spaniard is viewed as the perfect replacement for the injured Santi Cazorla who is expected to be out for three months after undergoing surgery on an Achilles problem, although he is hopeful of returning sooner.
Fabregas has also been linked with a move to AC Milan, although the Serie A side are not believed to be interested in signing the midfielder until the summer.
The former Gunner made a surprise return to the Chelsea starting XI for Saturday’s win over Manchester City, making his first appearance since September’s defeat to Arsenal.

Of course any potential move for Fabregas would be hugely controversial due to the way he forced through a move to Barcelona in 2011.
It also seems highly unlikely to happen particularly as Conte has insisted that Fabregas will stay at Stamford Bridge and does have a future at the club despite his lack of game time.
Wenger also insisted only on Friday that he was not looking to sign any replacements for Cazorla in the January window.
