Our long-serving creative midfielder Tomas Rosicky has been tipped to end his nine year association with us this summer, with his contract unlikely to be renewed, says the Sun.
The 34-year-old has made 169 Premier League appearances in total since arriving from Borussia Dortmund almost a decade ago, bagging 19 top flight goals to boot. In total, he’s played 242 times and bagged 28 times – but it’s his creative spark that has made him a real fans’ favourite.
In fact, if injuries hadn’t plagued his career so badly, we could be talking about one of the very best players of the Arsene Wenger era (he’s that talented), but he’s never managed to play more than 30 Premier League games in a season.
This time around he’s been restricted to 14, and with the likes of Santi Cazorla, Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere all capable of playing in his favourite position, he’s surplus to Emirates requirements now.
But it will be with a heavy heart that we’ll let the Czech go on the expiration of his contract this summer, and we’ll wish him the very best in whatever he chooses to do next.
