We have been heavily linked with a move for French striker Karim Benzema recently (via The Telegraph), but now we are being tipped to sign his Real Madrid teammate Denis Cheryshev, as reported by talkSPORT.
The Russian star has struggled to make an impact at the Bernabeu, and spent last season out on loan with La Liga side Villarreal. Madrid are seemingly ready to cash in on the 24-year-old now, although we’ll be facing competition for his signature.
The talkSPORT report claims Liverpool are among a number of teams looking to lure the winger away, with Villarreal also hoping to bring him back to Estadio El Madrigal.
We are lacking in the forward department at the moment, with a number of exits leaving us a little light. Luckily Arsene Wenger has a number of versatile stars at his disposal, with the likes of Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck able to play out wide or up front. It therefore makes little difference whether we sign an out and out striker or a goalscoring winger, as long as we bring another quality player to North London.

He may not be the signing from Real Madrid most Arsenal fans want to see, but he has been impressive in pre-season for the La Liga giants.
