Attacking reinforcements are unquestionably needed this summer, but few Arsenal fans would be expecting Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez to arrive. The Algerian is the latest to be linked with a move to the Emirates, with his fantastic start to the campaign catching the eye of some huge clubs, as reported by the Daily Star.
Mahrez has been one of the standout performers in the Premier League so far this season, and is currently the English flight’s top scorer with four goals.
He is consequently attracting the attention of clubs such as Roma and Villarreal (via the Daily Star), with the report touting a £5m price tag.
It’s still a bit of a shock for Arsenal to be linked with him though, especially considering the calibre of players we’ve been linked to so far this window.
The Star’s report claims Arse Wenger is confident of signing the talented Foxes star, but we’ll have to wait and see.
“I can’t predict what will happen,” he said.

The 24-year-old is unquestionably a talented player, and has been in unstoppable form recently. He’s arguably not of the quality required to play for Arsenal though, and he’s certainly not the marquee signing most fans want to see through the door.

On top of all that, the report claims Leicester are refusing to sell – although if enough money was thrown their way you’d expect them to accept.
