Former Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby, who we released last month following his injury-plagued career, might get a second chance in the Premier League with West Bromwich Albion, the Birmingham Mail reports.
The report suggests that Diaby is in talks with Tony Pulis regarding a potential move in a surprising deal which could offer the 29-year-old another chance at proving himself as a Premier League player.
After a disastrous few years with injuries, where Diaby only made two senior appearances since March 2013, the club finally decided to release him following the expiration of his contract.
Wenger subsequently spoke of his sadness and stated that Diaby was the closest player he’d seen to Patrick Vieira.
“He was the closest to Patrick Vieira we have seen here,” the boss told Arsenal Player.
Pulis is making a habit of poaching experienced players from top clubs after recently signing Darren Fletcher from Manchester United.

Fletcher himself suffered a number of injuries during his time at Old Trafford, but his move to The Hawthorns in January has given him a new lease of life, where he played every minute of West Brom’s final 15 league games (via Squawka).
Hopefully, Pulis can work the same magic with Diaby so that the Frenchman can experience a happing ending to what has been a challenging career.
