With the Premier League set to start in under two weeks, I am beginning to fear for yet another inactive transfer window where Arsenal is not going to bolster the squad significantly (particularly defense) after glaring evidence to suggest we need to.
With leagues around the world set to start very soon it seems club’s are beginning to shut up shop and Blackburn is no exception slapping their main centre-back Christopher Samba with an increased price tag of £12m.
As has been reported, the main interest in his services come from White Hart Lane and the Emirates with only Spurs so far lodging a bid £6m plus an additional player.
It has already been said that Arsene’s main priority target is Everton centre-back Phil Jagielka although reports also suggest he is keen to stay at Goodison Park, especially for the small amount of money Arsene has offered so far.
With three world-class defenders having been linked with Arsenal this summer, including Jagielka, Cahill and Samba, the opportunity to bolster defense to this much has not been this high in a long time, particularly with Samba who has reported on numerous occasions to want out of Ewood Park.
With a £10m bid already have been tabled for Jagielka, I feel things should be getting desperate at the Emirates and with only £2m extra needed to pay for Samba, why wait any longer?

The absolute need to sign a central defender is clear above all else and with the higher-ups publicly stating Arsene has significant funds to spend, the apparent adoption strict transfer policies this summer is definitely not the time or place. Get a bit of Dalglish in ya Wenger!
