According to numerous sources, Manchester ‘moneybags’ City is ready to further tempt Arsenal into loosening their grasp over midfielder Samir Nasri by offering in the region of reportedly £25m for his services.
The stance at Arsenal has been pretty tight over retaining the Frenchman, although it is being reported that Nasri’s desire for the switch coupled with the possibility of substantial money is beginning to reverse the gunners stance on keeping him.
It is no secret that City have targeted Nasri after manager Roberto Mancini publicly stated his intentions and the general feeling is Samir is keen to make the switch after being reportedly offered a crazy £185,000 a week according to L’Equipe.
While it is pretty clear Nasri wants the move, he is also reported to have told friends he does not mind seeing the remainder of his contract out at the Emirates considering it only has 12 months left.
The news comes as a huge blow to Arsenal fans, as the prospect of losing our two best midfielders Cesc Fabreagas and Samir Nasri is moving closer and closer to reality with each passing day.
Although not over, I have to say this transfer window is definitely one of the most demoralising I have ever experienced. Our inability to retain key players/inspire club loyalty and respect as well as our inability to attract NEEDED players/simply not dish out the available funds for them could see a downward spiral that could be irreversible for Arsenal FC.
